The Triton Super High Roller Series is in full swing on the volcanic island of Jeju, and Canada already has its name on the results sheet.
Kristen Foxen, one of the most accomplished Canadian tournament professionals of her generation, finished 17th in Event #3, a $30,000 No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed tournament that attracted 172 entries and generated a $5,160,000 prize pool. The result earned Foxen $70,000 and reinforced what followers of the high-roller circuit already know: she competes at this level consistently, and she keeps proving it.
The title went to China's Chen Mingcong, who topped a final table of elite professionals to claim $1,143,000. Triton's own coverage did not undersell the moment, declaring: "A NEW STAR RISES." It was a compelling debut victory on one of poker's most prestigious stages.
Going Deep in a Triton Field Is No Small Thing
A 17th-place finish in a Triton field is not a near-miss to be glossed over. By the time the money bubble breaks at a Super High Roller Series event, the remaining players are almost entirely composed of the game's best: seasoned high-roller regulars, sponsored professionals, and a small number of well-funded recreational players who have logged enough of these events to be genuinely dangerous.
Navigating deep into that field, past two full tables of finishers, is a meaningful achievement. It requires both technical precision and the mental discipline needed to handle sustained pressure with no margin for error.
What Comes Next
The Triton Jeju $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event is the next marquee event on the schedule. In 2025, that tournament attracted 285 entries and became one of the largest six-figure buy-in events in poker history, producing a $28,500,000 prize pool. If Foxen takes her seat, Event #3 will look like a successful warm-up before the headline act.
For Canadian poker fans following from home, there is every reason to keep an eye on the Jeju leaderboards over the coming days.
