Tips for Setting Responsible Deposit Limits
Start Conservative
Set your initial limits below what you think you need. You can always increase them later (after the cooling-off period). Starting low prevents impulsive over-spending during a bad session.
Use Your Bankroll as a Guide
Your total monthly deposit budget should be money you can afford to lose. A common rule is to never risk more than 5% of your savings on poker in any given month.
Match Limits to Your Play Style
If you mainly play cash games at one room, allocate more there. If you chase tournaments across rooms, spread your budget more evenly. Let the planner reflect how you actually play.
Review Monthly
Revisit this planner each month. Your poker habits and financial situation change over time. A budget that felt right in January may need adjusting by June.
How to Use This Planner
- Enter your total monthly poker budget in CAD at the top. This is the maximum you want to deposit across all rooms combined in a calendar month.
- Adjust the allocation sliders for each room. Drag a slider to increase or decrease that room's share. You can also type a dollar amount directly. The progress bar updates in real time to show how much of your budget is allocated.
- Review the suggested limits. For each room, the planner calculates daily, weekly, and monthly deposit limit recommendations based on your allocation. These are the values you should enter in each room's responsible gambling settings.
- Export or print your plan. Click the "Export / Print Summary" button to get a printable version or save a text summary to your device. Use it as a reference when configuring limits at each room.
- Set your limits at each room. Log in to each poker room, go to Settings or Responsible Gambling, and enter the daily, weekly, and monthly limits from your plan.
