Mike Leah of Innisfil, Ontario, won Event #5 of the 2026 WSOP Online Ontario series on Monday, September 28, taking the CA$600 No-Limit Hold’em Ultra Stack on GGPoker Ontario for CA$47,007 and the third World Series of Poker bracelet of his career. Within hours he was at a second final table, in Event #6, the CA$400 PLOSSUS Bounty, with a chance at two WSOP bracelets on the same day. He fell short, per the event report published by Poker.Pro.
The win belongs to one of the province’s best-known tournament players, in a series that is closed to anyone not physically located in Ontario.
The Event
Event #5 was a two-day No-Limit Hold’em tournament that began on Sunday, September 27, with a CA$300,000 guarantee, per the GGPoker.ca series schedule. It drew 535 entries and a prize pool of CA$304,950, narrowly clearing the guarantee, according to Poker.Pro. Leah came to the final table as chip leader, with roughly 153 big blinds, and played it from the front.
Along with the CA$47,007 first prize and the gold bracelet, the winner receives a WSOP Paradise package valued at US$5,000. It covers entry into a Circuit Championship event and hotel accommodation at Baha Mar in the Bahamas during the WSOP Paradise festival in December. Poker.Pro did not publish the full final-table results, and GGPoker.ca had not posted them as of Tuesday evening.
Before play resumed on Monday, Leah posted on X under his long-standing handle, taken from his old online screen name: “Today I will win @WSOP bracelet #3.” After the win, with the PLOSSUS final table still ahead, he added: “And hey maybe #4 too. Has anyone ever won 2 @wsop bracelets on the same day.”
The Second Final Table
Event #6, the CA$400 PLOSSUS Bounty, is a six-handed Pot-Limit Omaha knockout tournament with a CA$200,000 guarantee. Its final stage ran the same Monday evening. Leah reached the final table, which put two bracelets in one day within reach. PokerType reported that he came within one river card of putting himself in position for the second title. Neither outlet had published his finishing position or payout in Event #6 at the time of writing. OntarioPoker.com will update this report when official results are posted.
Three Bracelets, Two in 2026
Leah has been one of Canada’s most consistent tournament players for more than a decade. His three bracelets span three continents and both live and online play, and two of them have come this year.

The Prague result earlier this year lifted Leah into the upper reaches of the WSOP Player of the Year race. He sat sixth on the leaderboard in June, as noted in our coverage of Canadians at the 2026 WSOP. He also came close to a WSOP title at the 2024 summer series, finishing second to Maksim Pisarenko in the US$10,000 H.O.R.S.E. Championship for US$266,658. His career live tournament earnings exceed $4 million, per the Hendon Mob database as cited by Poker.Pro.
He was also among the leading Canadian stacks at the WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event at Playground earlier this month, carrying 900,000 into Day 3, as reported in our Main Event coverage.
What It Says About the Ontario Series
The WSOP Online Ontario series is the province’s own version of the online bracelet schedule. Its eight events are open only to players aged 19 or over who are physically located in Ontario, because the province’s regulated poker market cannot share players with the rest of the world. That makes fields smaller than on the international GGPoker site. The dot-com WSOP Online Main Event earlier this month drew 6,008 entries and a US$28.5-million prize pool, as detailed in our report on that event.
A 535-entry field that only just cleared its guarantee is typical of Ontario-only events. It is also why a bracelet win by a player of Leah’s profile stands out: the Ontario series gives the province’s best players a regulated route to gold at home, but on a much smaller stage than the one available to players outside the province.
