PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario Launches Its First Tournament Series, the 61-Event September Dynasty Series, With Buy-Ins Between CA$30 and CA$1,500 and a CA$300 Main Event

TORONTO - PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario has announced its September Dynasty Series, a 61-event tournament schedule running September 12 to 28 with a CA$300 Main Event on September 27 and 28. It is the first tournament series to run on the province's newly relaunched PokerStars-branded platform, which returned to Ontario on FanDuel infrastructure in June 2026 following the operator's previous exit in early May of the same year. The Ontario schedule runs simultaneously with a parallel US Dynasty Series across Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, which totals 100 events and a US$3.5-million (approximately CA$4.7-million) aggregate guarantee across those three states. The Ontario guarantees remain to be announced, per operator communications published Tuesday.

The move ends a fifteen-week programming gap on the platform. Since the June relaunch, PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario has offered cash games, sit-and-goes and a modest weekly-Sunday schedule but no themed series. Multi-table tournament players in the province - the highest-volume Ontario segment on iGaming Ontario's quarterly reports - have relied on GGPoker Ontario's WSOP-branded series, ClubGG's mid-week runs and BetMGM Poker Ontario's Sunday majors. The September Dynasty Series is the first meaningful attempt by the operator to reclaim that segment.

The Ontario Schedule

Ontario's version of the Dynasty Series carries 61 events, all No-Limit Hold'em, across three formats: regular freezeout, progressive knockout and mystery bounty. Buy-ins run from CA$30 for the entry rung to CA$1,500 for the High Roller Main. The pattern of a two-day tournament with a re-entry Day 1 and an unlimited-late-registration Day 2 is standard through the Storm and Dynasty spines of the schedule. Guarantees have not been published.

Ontario vs the United States

The most instructive way to read the announcement is to hold the Ontario schedule next to the US schedule that shares the client. The US Dynasty Series carries 100 events to Ontario's 61, and the parallel US structure includes a Pot-Limit Omaha and PLO5 vertical that Ontario does not receive. The US Main Event buy-in is set at US$300 (roughly CA$408) with a US$350,000 (roughly CA$473,000) guarantee, and the US Mini Main is US$50 (roughly CA$68) with a US$75,000 (roughly CA$101,000) guarantee. The US High Roller is US$1,500 (roughly CA$2,024). A leaderboard is confirmed for the US client and remains unconfirmed for Ontario.

The "more modest" framing that Pokerfuse used to describe Ontario's schedule is fair. It reflects the underlying player-pool math. Ontario's regulated online poker vertical produced C$56.6 million in peer-to-peer gross gaming revenue in the year to March 2026 per iGaming Ontario, roughly one-quarter of the combined New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania figure for the same window. A 61-vs-100 event count and a smaller aggregate guarantee reflect that ratio without distorting it.

What Ontario players do not receive is a Pot-Limit Omaha vertical, which is a live constraint in the province. Only three of the six AGCO-licensed poker operators - GGPoker Ontario, BetMGM Poker Ontario and PokerStars Ontario, in that order - have historically spread PLO cash at any meaningful volume, and PLO tournament content in the province is thin. A dedicated PLO track on the September series would have altered the Ontario grinder calculus for September; without it, the client is a NLHE tournament brand for the month.

Context: The June Relaunch and What Came Before

PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario is the successor to the standalone PokerStars Ontario product that Flutter Entertainment operated in the province from the market's April 2022 launch to early May 2026. That original client was shut down without a specific replacement date, and industry reporting from PokerIndustry Pro at the time framed the closure as part of a Flutter-wide consolidation onto the FanDuel-branded parent platform in North America. When PokerStars.com re-emerged in Ontario on June 5, 2026, it was on FanDuel's regulated infrastructure, sharing the same shell that Flutter operates in Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The re-emergence was quiet. There was no launch tournament, no reload campaign that this desk saw pushed into iGaming Ontario-visible channels, and no major MTT programming. The September Dynasty Series is the operator's first attempt at a routine tournament calendar since the FanDuel-branded relaunch, and the June-to-September programming gap is the longest we have seen from a top-three Ontario poker room since the market opened.

Timing Against the Live Calendar

The Dynasty Series opens September 12, the closing day of the WSOP Super Circuit Canada at Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake. It is a coincidence of scheduling rather than a coordinated hand-off - the WSOP Circuit series is a live festival, and the Dynasty Series is entirely online - but the overlap gives Ontario players an unusually deep two-week window of tournament content. GGPoker Ontario's satellite pipeline into the CA$5,000 Main Event closed August 19; players who did not qualify will be online in force through mid-September. The Storm and Dynasty pair on September 13-14 lands exactly on that back-to-online-from-live weekend.

The second overlap is more consequential. The Ontario Dynasty Series' final Sunday, September 27-28, runs directly against BetMGM Poker Ontario's Sunday Guaranteed slate and against GGPoker Ontario's Sunday Bounty Hunter, which regularly clears CA$150,000 in guarantees combined. The CA$300 Ontario Main Event and CA$1,500 Ontario High Roller will need to price against those existing anchors. The Main Event's buy-in slot at CA$300 sits directly between BetMGM Poker Ontario's Sunday flagship at CA$215 and GGPoker Ontario's mid-Sunday high-roller at CA$525, a gap the province's larger operators have historically owned.

Compliance and Regulatory Context

PokerStars on FanDuel Ontario operates under AGCO's regulated iGaming Ontario framework and requires all participants to be physically located in Ontario, aged 19 or older, and registered through FanDuel's provincial account architecture. Cross-border player-pool sharing remains prohibited pending the Supreme Court of Canada's disposition of the Attorney-General of Ontario reference on interprovincial and international shared liquidity, which is currently scheduled for a Supreme Court hearing on October 7, 2026. Until that ruling, all Ontario Dynasty Series participants play in the fenced Ontario pool; the client's US-facing schedule runs on a separate ring-fenced player pool covering the three combined US states.
