GGPoker Announces Record $300M World Festival, the Largest Online Poker Series in History

The five-week festival runs May 3 through June 9 with 375 events, buy-ins from $3 to $10,000, and three flagship tournaments each guaranteeing $10 million. Ontario players should expect a dedicated schedule for the ring-fenced market.

GGPoker has announced the 2026 GG World Festival, a five-week online tournament series running May 3 through June 9 with a combined guarantee of $300 million. The figure makes it the richest online poker series ever staged, surpassing the $250 million benchmark the platform set with its own festival in 2025. For players physically located in Ontario who use GGPoker Ontario, the announcement signals what is likely to be the province's largest online tournament window of the year.

"Last year we set the bar at $250 million, and the community response was legendary," Daniel Negreanu, the Canadian poker icon and GGPoker global ambassador, said. "But at GGPoker, we don't just want to meet expectations; we want to smash them over and over again. This year, we're going to $300 million. Whether you're playing a $3 Low Tier tournament or the $10K GGMillion$ Main Event, you're part of the biggest thing to ever happen in online poker."

What the Schedule Looks Like

The festival spans 375 numbered events across 38 days, with buy-ins ranging from $3 at the low end to $10,000 for the GGMillion$ Main Event. Each event runs across multiple tiers, meaning a single tournament concept appears at several price points to accommodate different bankrolls. The structure is one GGPoker has refined over successive festivals: the same formats and structures at $10, $100, $525, and $2,625 buy-ins, so micro-stakes grinders and high rollers compete in parallel.

Three flagship events anchor the schedule, each guaranteeing $10 million:

DateEventBuy-inGuarantee
May 18World Bounty Festival$525$10,000,000
May 25GGMillion$ Main Event$10,000$10,000,000
June 1GG World Championship$1,500$10,000,000

Beyond the flagships, the schedule is dense with formats that have become staples of GGPoker's tournament ecosystem: Mystery Bounty events, Progressive Knockouts, and Freezeout variants. The opening day alone features four tiers of the Sunday Kickstarter Bounty, a $1,500 Mystery Bounty, and a $525 Double Stack, suggesting the festival will deliver a high-volume schedule from the outset.

The Leaderboard Layer

GGPoker will inject an additional $3 million through a tiered leaderboard system that awards points for every cash throughout the festival. The leaderboard is segmented by buy-in level, ensuring that low-stakes players are not competing against high rollers for bonus prizes:

TierBuy-in RangeLeaderboard Prizes
Low$3 to $25$300,000
Medium$26 to $150$700,000
High$151 to $1,050$1,000,000
Super$1,051+$1,000,000

This approach mirrors GGPoker's ongoing Bounty Hunters Series structure, where Ontario players already compete in tiered leaderboards alongside Ontario-only tournament schedules. The April BHS Ontario series, which runs through April 27 with C$2 million guaranteed, has demonstrated that the ring-fenced Ontario market can sustain meaningful leaderboard prizes within its own player pool.

What Ontario Players Should Expect

The global schedule announced today is designed for GGPoker's dot-com network, which pools players from dozens of jurisdictions worldwide. Ontario operates as a ring-fenced market under iGaming Ontario's regulatory framework, meaning players physically located in the province compete in a separate player pool on the GGPoker Ontario platform.

In practice, this means Ontario players should expect a dedicated Ontario schedule for the World Festival period, with the same tournament concepts and formats but with guarantees calibrated to the provincial player base. During GGPoker's Bounty Hunters Series in April, for example, the Ontario version guaranteed C$2 million across its own slate of events, including the Ontario MILLION$ at C$100,000 and the Mystery Bounty Main Event at C$250,000.

GGPoker has not yet published the Ontario-specific schedule for the World Festival. Based on precedent from previous GGPoker festivals and the current BHS Ontario series, Ontario players can reasonably expect:

  • Dedicated Ontario tournaments mirroring the major global events
  • Buy-ins from C$3 to C$500+ across multiple tiers
  • Ontario-specific leaderboard prizes
  • Satellite qualifiers for both Ontario events and WSOP 2026 Las Vegas seats

The timing is significant. The World Festival overlaps directly with the WSOP 2026 satellite qualification window, as the World Series runs May 26 through July 15 at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. GGPoker Ontario has historically packaged WSOP satellite paths into its major festival schedules, and the May 3 to June 9 window lines up perfectly with the final push for WSOP seat qualifiers.

Scale in Context

A $300 million total guarantee represents a 20 per cent increase over the 2025 record. To put it in perspective, the entire Ontario regulated iGaming market generated C$59 million in peer-to-peer poker revenue during the 2024-25 fiscal year. The global GG World Festival alone guarantees roughly five times Ontario's entire annual poker market in a single five-week window.

The series also arrives at a moment of heightened activity in the online poker calendar. PokerStars' SCOOP wrapped in late March with $52.7 million in total prizes, 888poker runs seasonal series through the spring, and BetMGM's Heart Championship is active through June. For Ontario players, the overlap means May and June will offer an unusually dense tournament schedule across multiple regulated rooms.

Negreanu's involvement as the series ambassador adds a Canadian dimension to the announcement. The six-time WSOP bracelet winner, who grew up in Toronto and remains one of the most recognized poker players in the world, has been GGPoker's global ambassador since 2019. His promotional role for the World Festival reinforces the platform's connection to Canadian poker at a time when the Ontario market continues to grow.

The full Ontario-specific schedule is expected to be published on GGPoker Ontario in the coming days. Players can check the tournament lobby in the GGPoker Ontario app or visit the Ontario tournament schedule page for updates as they become available.
