Guaranteed Tournaments
Guaranteed tournaments come with a guaranteed prize pool. The prize amount for each tournament is indicated in the tournament lobby (if applicable), and the guaranteed amount will be distributed by GGPoker as promised - even if the total collected buy-in falls short of the guaranteed amount.
Freezeout Tournaments
At the start of a freezeout, all players will receive an equal amount of tournament chips. You can’t add more chips once the tournament has started. If you lose all of your chips, you will be eliminated from the tournament. If the tournament is not a rebuy, then it will be a freezeout.
Progressive Bounty Tournaments
In a Progressive Knockout (PKO) Bounty, every player has a bounty on his or her head. When a player is knocked out, half of the corresponding player’s bounty is added on to the bounty of the player who knocks him or her out. The other half of the bounty will be awarded to the player who knocked him or her out as an instant cash prize!
Rebuy Tournaments
All players will get an equal amount of tournament chips at the start of play. During the tournament, every player has the opportunity to rebuy (which is purchasing additional chips equivalent to the starting chip stack).
You can rebuy at any point during the specified time period providing your current chip amount is equal to or below the starting chips.
Satellite Tournaments
Satellites are qualifying events that give you the chance to win a seat to the main tournaments where you will find a higher buy-in.
Turbo Tournaments
Turbo tournaments are faster versions of regular tournaments with shorter blind and less time to make your move. You’ll be able to access a number of different turbo tournaments at GGPoker Ontario including satellites and daily guarantees.
Shootout Tournaments
In a Shootout, the tables are not balanced as players are knocked out, and play continues until just one poker player remains at the table. Once a winner has been determined in the first ’round’, all table winners are re-seated at new tables and a second ’round’ will begin.
All rounds continue this way until all the prize winning positions have been determined, and an outright tournament winner has been declared.
World Series of Poker (WSOP)
